Sec. 2.07. The Vice President for Research

The vice president for research shall exercise general executive responsibility for the research programs of the University and shall assist and advise the president and the Board in all matters pertaining to the research programs and activities of the University.

The vice president for research shall exercise executive responsibility for the review of recommendations of the deans, directors, or the heads of schools, colleges, and other educational and research units with respect to research proposals, research budgets, and appointment of personnel under research budgets.

The vice president for research shall be responsible for the maintenance of appropriate liaisons between the University and foundations, governmental agencies, and other organizations providing financial support for University research. The vice president for research shall advise and assist University staff members in approaches to outside agencies for research funds, and the vice president for research shall be advised of all such approaches made by staff members on behalf of the University.
