Internal deadline: April 25, 2005

http://www.fordfound.org/news/more/dialogues/index.cfm

The RFP [difficult_dialogues_rfp.pdf ] describes a new initiative in undergraduate education. The initiative seeks to promote religious, cultural, and political pluralism, as well as academic freedom, on campus.

Grants, up to $100,000, will be awarded both to new efforts and those that expand or enhance existing ones. Projects may vary in duration from one to two academic years.

An institution may only submit one preliminary proposal for this initiative. The Center for Institutional Diversity Planning Committee, led by Professor Lester Monts, Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Senior Counselor to the President for the Arts, Diversity, and Undergraduate Affairs, will coordinate the internal selection. Please submit a one-page summary electronically, in a single PDF format, by April 25, 2005 to: feldkamp@umich.edu

Contact Julie Feldkamp (763-4522 or feldkamp@umich.edu) or Maureen Martin (647-6074 or martinms@umich.edu) if you have any questions concerning the RFP or the internal selection process.
