Proposal and Award Information (PRISM): Predefined Reports in Business Objects

The PRISM (Programmed Research Information System at Michigan) database contains administrative and financial data on proposals and awards processed by DRDA.

A. Reports on Proposals

PRISM Proposals by Proposal Number.rep
Proposals with the Proposal Numbers specified by user. Indicate whether PIs or Co-Investigators or both should be displayed. Current status for each proposal is listed. NOTE: If "CO" is entered at the "PI or CO or both" prompt, the proposal data will be repeated for each Co-Investigator listed.

PRISM Proposals Historical by Dept.rep
Proposals within the "Date-submitted" range the user specifies, where PI or Co-Investigator (or both) has the DeptID(s) the user specifies, next to his/her name on the PAF. Current status is listed for each proposal. NOTE: If "CO" is entered at the "PI or CO or both" prompt, the proposal data will be repeated for each Co-Investigator listed.

PRISM Proposals Historical by Person.rep
Proposals within the range of "date-submitted" dates user specifies, where PI or Co-Investigator (or both) is the person(s) specified. Current status is listed for each proposal. NOTE: If "CO" is entered at the "PI or CO or both" prompt, the proposal data will be repeated for each Co-Investigator listed.

PRISM Proposals Historical by School or College.rep
Proposals submitted within the range of "Date-Submitted" dates the user specifies, where PI or Co-Investigator (or both) has a DeptID(s) next to his/her name on the PAF, that is in the School or College the user specifies. The School/College code is a DRDA-created code. Current status for each proposal is listed. NOTE: If "CO" is entered at the "PI or CO or both" prompt, the proposal data will be repeated for each Co-Investigator listed.

PRISM Proposals Pending by Dept.rep
Proposals with Pending or "Hardship" status, where PI or CO (or both) has the DeptID(s) the user specifies, next to his/her name on the PAF. Current status for each proposal is listed. NOTE: If "CO" is entered at the "PI or CO or both" prompt, the proposal data will be repeated for each Co-Investigator listed.

This report searches for active awards based on three parameters. One parameter searches for an award end date and the No Cost Time-Extension date (if any) that is greater than or equal to a user-specified date. The second parameter searches for an award start-date that is less than or equal to the same user-specified date. The third parameter is the user-specified DeptID(s) for the PI and/or Co-Investigator as it is recorded on the PAF. The following data elements are provided in the report:

DRDA number, Emplid, Last Name, First Name, Middle name, Role (PI or Co-investigator), DeptID, Dept Name, Sponsor code, Sponsor name, Award start-date, Award end-date, Award NCTX date, Direct costs, Indirect costs, Total costs, Class (on-campus research, instructional, etc.), Award-date, Title
NOTE: If "CO" is entered at the "PI or CO or both" prompt, the proposal data will be repeated for each Co-Investigator listed.

The third parameter is the user-specified Sponsor code(s) for the budget as it is recorded on the PAF. The following data elements are provided in the report:

Awards within the range of award-dates specified by user, where PI or Co-Investigator (or both) has a DeptID(s) next to his/her name on the PAF, that is in the School or College the user specifies. PRISM Committed Budgets Active by Dept.rep
This report searches for active committed budgets based on three parameters. One parameter searches for a budget end date and the No Cost Time-Extension date (if any) that is greater than or equal to a user-specified date. The second parameter searches for a budget start-date that is less than or equal to the same user-specified date. The third parameter is the user-specified DeptID(s) for the PI and/or Co-Investigator as it is recorded on the PAF. The following data elements are provided in the report:

DRDA number, Project Grant Number, Emplid, Last Name, First Name, Middle name, Role (PI or Co-investigator), DeptID, Dept Name, Sponsor code, Sponsor name, Budget start-date, Budget end-date, Budget NCTX date, Direct costs, Indirect costs, Total costs, Class (on-campus research, instructional, etc.), Sponsor grant number (e.g. 1 R01...), Title
NOTES: A Committed Budget is an increment of money received within an award. An award can sometimes have more than one active budget. In a small number of cases, an active award may not have an active budget at the time the query is run, because the latest budget has not yet arrived from the sponsor. If "CO" is entered at the "PI or CO or both" prompt, the budget data is repeated for each Co-Investigator.
